Howard M. Mintz, MD, FCCP
Dr. Mintz is a board certified pulmonary specialist who has been in private practice since 1982. At the age of 22 he graduated from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Mintz completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the Univerisity of California Irvine School of Medicine affiliated programs, where he was awarded The Most Outstanding Medical Resident 1977-1980. He went on to complete his training there with a fellowship in pulmonary disease. During his fellowship he trained at City of Hope in Duarte California, where he helped manage a chronic ventilator unit.
In 1987 a forerunner of Kindred Hospital approached him to run the first long term ventilator facility in Dallas. For many years he has had an interest in treating critically ill patients and has been involved in the management of sleep disordered breathing.
From 1986 until 2014 Dr. Mintz was on full time staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas now known as Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas. He then moved to Walnut Hill Medical Center where he became chief of staff and was the director of the ICU. Dr. Mintz is affiliated with Medical City Dallas and utilizes this hospital for patients requiring inpatient care and diagnostic procedures.
He is a Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Dallas County Medical Society and The Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Mintz has been named among the top doctors in Dallas by D magazine for many consecutive years. In addition, he is included among Texas Super Doctors and also Castle Connolly Top Doctors.
